Is This a Zombie?
Breakdown: Essentially the rundown is that the main character is killed by some sword wielding baddie and is resurrected by a Necromancer... he then becomes her servant and the like. They're joined by a mahou shojo (Magical Girl) who uses awesome powers and a chainsaw (pretty awesome, right?). Well, the mahou shojo cuts our zombie in half and he steals her power... in effect becoming a mahou shojo himself... lemme just say... that dress and the striped panties are not suiting for him. Then we get the Vampire Ninja who wants to save her village, challenges the zombie to be the servant of the necromancer... loses and thus joins this insanely dysfunctional cast in their search for the killer.
My Thoughts: I love it... honestly, anything with a zombie is a-okay in my book... the addition of magic, vampires, and a pseudo-harem are always pretty good. The suspense is a little lacking, but overall it's pretty good. The constant zombie insults are pretty fun... Honestly out of this season it's probably my 3rd favorite (if you catch how this is going... I'm gonna lead into my favorite). It's got some bawdy humor and is kinda dark... I give it a 9.2 out of 10.
Magical Girl MadokaBreakdown: Madoka is a girl who despite not being particularly talented in any areas is quite pleased with her life... her family is good, her friends are good, and she leads a normal and happy life. Well in her dreams we see a glimpse of a dark work where she contracts into to end suffering... only to wake up. And be facing a normal day... only it isn't. She ends up finding Kyubei a strange cat-fox-thingy saves it with the help of Mami Tomoe and there she learns about Magic Girls... (More Mahou Shojo)... Anyways... I'm gonna stop before I give away too much of the story. Suffice it to say... it's dark... A LOT darker than This is a Zombie.
My Thoughts: I love for shows to be dark in nature... I think it adds a special element to the magic where it seems necessary for everything to work. This is probably one of the darkest I've seen (recently) and it gets me kinda wet. This one is a bit slow on the start up, but it's necessary for you to learn what it takes to determine what a wish costs to come true. The music is great, the witch animations are a bit trippy but very effective, and the story is riddled with darkness of the heart and the like. Overall a 9.6 of 10

Freezing!
Breakdown: Aliens came and attacked the earth. It's the future and our lives depend on school girls (big surprise there) and a genetic stigma they cultivate along with a relationship for an Erinbar Set. The girls deploy volt weaponry and their counterparts (Limiters) work to freeze an area and keep the Pandora (the girls) from getting killed. But our attentions are cast to Satellizer L. Bridget, the untouchable queen. She's the top of the second years until Aoi Kazuya messes up the "Carnival" and she gets defeated for the first time ever. Kazuya's sister Kazuha is dead (along with their parents). She was a celebrated hero of the 8th Nova crash (the aliens 8th invasion) who sacrificed herself. Kazuya mistakes Satellizer for his sister (which is weird) and hugs her. As her name suggests she doesn't like to be touched and she responds in a strangely feminine fashion when he touches her... usually she kills the people who touch her. Anyway... he fights to be her limiter... she refuses... the usual.
My thoughts: To be honest... I love this A LOT. I get so excited to see it update... in fact I became so impatient that I read the manga up to the 39th chapter AND watch it every week. THAT is how good it is. Satellizer is a great character... so is Kazuya. Also there's boobs, and blood, it's ecchi as hell, and there's even aliens JUST for good measure. Win. 9.8 of 10.
